FREEDOME Dodgeball Team Amongst Top 10 in the World

You may remember back in June we hosted a regional qualifier for Sky Zone’s Ultimate Dodgeball Championship 2017, which saw the best six teams across the UK and Europe go head to head in a battle for glory, with ‘British Bulldogs’ being crowned champion.

Well, earlier this month we flew ‘The British Bulldogs’, comprising of top England Academy Players, 3,779 miles across the world to Chicago to compete in the final of Skyzone’s Ultimate Dodgeball Championship 2017 and boy did they do a good job!

Competing against more than 30 teams, from four different countries, in the ultimate test of strength, skill and agility, ‘The British Bulldogs’ dodged, ducked, dipped, and dived their way to ninth place. Flying the flag for FREEDOME, they’re are now officially one of the top 10 ultimate dodgeball teams in the world and we could not be prouder.

The match everyone had eagerly awaited, the championship final, the was held on 6th August (not to mention streamed across Snapchat for 24 hours) and saw Los Angeles’ team DOOM take home the $20,000 cash prize after an intense showdown against TC Boosh from Minnesota. The five-time champions went throughout the whole four-day tournament undefeated, winning all the Round Robin matches as well as the five elimination games.

Dodgeball is fast becoming one of the UK’s new and upcoming sports and we’re so pleased to have been able to support The British Bulldogs’ journey in one of the most competitive championships across the globe, which has kick started our dodgeball history.
