12 of our best moments during our 1st year!!
Can you believe we’ve been open a whole year?! No, neither can we, but what a year it has been. The response we received when we announced we’d be launching the very first FREEDOME park in the UK was amazing, but nothing compares to what the first 12 months have held.
Since opening in October we’ve seen the launch of FreeSpirits and FREEDOME Battles, the naming of our infamous ladder, not to mention the first UK Ultimate Dodgeball Championship Qualifier and our appearance on Good Morning Britain and Newsround. Take a look at our timeline below as we run through our 12 best bits during one year of FREEDOME history…
1. FREEDOME First
At 3pm on 14th October 2016 we opened our doors at the world’s first FREEDOME in Cheshire Oaks.
2. Sports Sponsors
Getting involved with the local community we sponsored Chester & District Youth Football League and Upton FC U10s.
3. Get Your Glow On
After the amazing response we received from our UV launch night Glow became a permanent weekend fixture just one week later.
4. Feeling Festive
To celebrate the biggest day of the year, the big man himself hid 12 gifts inside the park, ranging from a fitness bag and pass to a midweek party for 10… did you win?
5. Free Your Fitness
Just in time for the new year’s resolutions we launched FreeFit, our exhilarating fitness class.
6. Famous Faces
In January, French football player Djibril Cissé visited the park.
7. Let The Battles Begin
Rising to the challenge, we brought you FREEDOME battles back in February and Battle Parties landed a month later.
8. FreeSpirits Founded
In April we launched our autism-friendly jump session, FreeSpirits.
9. FREEDOME Finds Fame
As part of our national safety campaign, Newsround came to film in the park and find out our top tips when bouncing. Our MD was also on Good Morning Britain, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 5Live!
10. Lexi’s Ladder Launched
Having gone without a name for over six months, we thought it was time our rope ladder got one. In April, we asked and you voted for it to become ‘Lexi’s Ladder’.
11. Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge
In June we hosted the UK’s very first Ultimate Dodgeball Championship Qualifier and whisked the mighty Meteor Ducks all the way to Chicago to compete in the finals.
12. World Record Breakers?
We jumped for a whole 36 hours straight in September to break the current world record for the longest marathon trampolining by a team.
